Shakey start, but then was very good, though pretty much the whole team were to be fair. The wingers were outstanding.

Duffy has been class all season. For the first time this season he actually ran forward with the ball hahaha

That's my only concern if he has to full in in midfield, he doesn't seem to have much of an engine on him if you forgive the cliche.

Duffy did well tonight. I thought he was poor in possession against Gillingham, but he was tidy tonight. He is playing at League 2 level because he does not have the pace to play full back at say higher than league 1 level and he does not have the presence to play centre half. But he is a good acquisition and maybe as his fitness improves he can prove me wrong. I presume that is why he went off?

Yup. He went of IMO cos he were knackered. He must have done 10K in 75 mins. Yates did fine in his stead.

The fact he doesn't get forward is a good thing, it adds balance to the side especially considering we get forward in numbers and have Loft/Taylor at left back who both like to attack. Duffy is quality and Yates isn't.

Considering our midfield in plagued with injuries and suspensions I'd like to see him get a chance there. He's said before that it's where he prefers to play, and in all honesty he doesn't look like a full back to me. He's played well, but I'd personally prefer to see Yates there. That said, I don't think he's done anything wrong to be dropped (excluding the Gillingham and Walsall games)

Have to agree. Think Yates may benefit from run at full back. Duffy cannot cross a ball and is slow in going forward. Having said that I suspect he is not yet fully fit, as Mickey keeps substituting him. I'm Vale through and through so I will give Duffy benefit of doubt and accept he is part of a strong defence and can only get better.

it took him 15/20 minutes to get going and get tight to his man. wasnt helped by JMW not getting back with Rigg but once he stopped backing off attackers and putting his foot in nothing but his usual high standard us vale fans have come to expect. looking forward to Murphy getting fit to see what he is all about because if hes anything like Mickeys other signings we could be in for a treat.
