Duffy is far far better than Yates, and I don't htink we have seen the best of Duffy yet.

I really don't agree. I'm not slating him, and he had a generally solid game but he's not shown anything special. He made me nervous at times and doesn't seem to be confident knocking the ball around. Against both Gillingham and Walsall I thought he was poor, and tonight he was mostly solid (getting bettter as the game went on) but unspectacular. If those performances deserve a thread praising him then we mist be scraping the barrel.

 

I'd have Yates back in certainly.

 

You honestly must be watching different games to me. Unsung hero of the season for me so far along with Chris Neal.

He's miles better than Yates, he doesn't hit the first man with his crossing 9/10 and is generally far better positionally. I'm frankly overjoyed we have a proper right back for the first time in several seasons, Yates is a tryer but is bog standard league two/non-league standard a lot of the time!

That's garbage for a start, it was actually an excellent tackle in the end and Constable fell over like a proverbial sack of spuds!

Average member of a defense that has always got a mistake in it. Marginally better than Yates but inconsistent. "Class Act"... that's a bit strong, I think.

Duffy best RB we have for may a year. The vulnerability in the defence is due to the lack of pace by the centre halves and the formation in midfeld.

We needed a defensive full back like Duffy to allow JMW to be more attacking so I'm glad he's not bombing forward all the time. That said the games of late I feel he is a bit of a liability when making challenges in or around the box but he is way better then Yates

I thought Richard Duffy had his best match tonight and could easily play at a higher level. A quality signing by Micky

 

All-injury free signings has been really excellent this summer. Mickey Adams couldn't have had a better silly season. We just need to add a few more players to the squad in case of injuries.

SV - the reason he had to make that tackle was because yet again he had 'lost his man'. It was a fair challenge as shown later but there's plenty of refs who would have given the penalty.

 

Before coming to the Vale he was thought to be the best of our pre-season signings but for me he hasn't reached that form yet.

Don't get me wrong he may well do and I hope he does.

 

He's OK but he just hasn't reached the levels I would have expected yet.

 

Mickey obviously thinks he's the better player because he's picking him - but when Yates has come on he has looked sharp, quicker, and he is a genuine full back. - Not sure that Duffy is.
