People don’t want the context. They just want to moan about the fact we’re signing a ‘defender from the 7th tier’ without the context behind it

Try and spin any positive you want. The bloke is 27 playing for a side who are bottom of the 7th tier, played only 88 games and picks up horrible injuries. There is not one positive spin to put on this

I can see the context, but this is not a player we should be in for. Just madness

I've got a feeling there will be a big news item after the transfer window shuts and the club can no longer sell players  That Carol as put the club up for sale and the money raised from player sales in the window as gone to carol to pay off some of the money she has loaned to the club

I think there maybe some truth in this.

cutting costs to make it more attractive sale to a potential buyer.

A bit more from Jon Brady's press conference. I think Brady's comments are open to interpretation and I may be mis-understanding his words but only picking players in his long-term plans would put their future in doubt as I see it...

Reading between the lines of this I would say that Mitch and Ruari are not in Jon's plans. The problem is if Devante leaves which looks highly likely would you want to run the risk of selling or loaning Ruari out and not having replacements for him and Devante that's the question that Jon has to consider between now and deadline day as he can't just rely on Jayden, Ben W and Dajaune.

@eh up nah @Packmoor_vale to explain my comment. I wasn't suggesting I was disappointed (I love the odd bargain/chancer) but rather I was predicting what some people's reaction was. I'd also add that my piece I linked to (if you click on it) also explained why he was at Workington and his playing history. So, I wasn't doing the player down, rather thinking what the reaction from some people may be.

I know exactly what u meant rob

Complete meltdown

They were yes, it’s tough to judge really as you could argue it’s down to the coaches before Ryder. They did manage to come through under him though and I know Carol and co have sung his praise before. We may be able to judge more by what this opportunity is that he’s taken up. Just odd timing as well

Carol and co also sung flitcrofts and DM praises aswell

Hopefully we are just reducing wage bill to enable a bigger budget for next season. Fingers crossed  !!!

Nope - budget cuts.

True. Suppose we will know more with where he ends up

36 EFL starts at 27.

Infamously always injured Mitch Clark is 26 and has made 4.5x as many starts in the EFL, 160.

James Wilson, also always injured, 104 by age 27.

It doesn't strike me as a particularly good time to be making a signing with this profile, particularly in the context of Cole probably leaving. And on the same day as the head of academy and a youth prospect jumping ship. The PR optics aren't great, are they?

Carol has had enough. Shes realised with two relegations the mistakes are being repeated and she accepts that she is lost what to do about it .

Brady signed Wilson too, even after we'd deemed him not worth another contract!

He’s playing there to pick up fitness and keep himself playing football until an opportunity in the EFL arose again, which it now has.

We’re bottom of league 1 by 10 points, i’m not sure what kind of signings you expect.

The fact is that he has been a league 1 defender for the last 2 years, so i find it hard to believe he’s any worse than what we already have at the back based on saturday's defending

He’s an ex Blackburn player who didn’t get a deal in the summer so been playing for his mate. Brady signed him at Nton and says he’s fast and powerful

Of course he is.
he’s barely played any football and playing for a side what 8 points adrift at the bottom of the 7th tier. If we can sign better than that the let’s just lock the doors and throw away the keys.

I’ve posted before there were two options to take. Back the manager and use the player sale and cup funds and try our best to stay up. Or completely roll over accept we’re down and just give up. This is clearly the option we have gone down and imo the club accepted relegation when they sacked Moore.
