I feel like my association with Vale is one of doom scrolling recently.

Perhaps it's time to take a break and see where the club is at next season.

It's just very demoralising.

Can someone explain to me how good this will Ryder is that I’m reading comments like shambles that he has left or does anyone know why he has

Was there a poster on here called Alfie a while back slating the youth set up

I really rated Will Ryder as a massive positive for the club.  I hope his "new opportunity" is just that and not something  more sinister as to the reason why he's left.

Good luck yewth, you did a superb job.

I thought he did really well. Players like Dipepa, Walters, Shorrock. Compared to what it was before. A big loss imo.

Can’t claim to know anything much about Ryder. Do you judge him by the players we’ve brought through in the last few years? Surely a lot of that comes down to the individual coaches through the age groups first and foremost?  Him going shouldn’t change our structure, vision or plans for the academy lads.

Perhaps it's time to batten down the OVF hatches. The reaction to this could be interesting...

To be quite honest, and I wouldn't go as far as to say i've completely changed my mind (i haven't), but reading John Brady's take on this in Mike Baggaleys newsletter does give the potential signing more context.  He's literally been at Workington for 4 months or something to get fit and had plenty of offers prior.

He’s not been linked with us. It’s just Vale fans adding 2 + 2 and getting Batman

He very much has been linked with us given he's training with us, as per Rob's post above that quotes from an interview Mike Baggaley just published.

Things are getting so bad it's actually funny.

Ryder had a better win ratio than Brady  😜

Weren’t people excited by the Brady appointment because of this unfounded claim he’d develop players? Here we are then, he’s going to nurture a non league defender.

Exactly

it won’t stop the locals hammering there club for it though

God knows what the player will think when he sees the online comments

We will end up with nothing

They were yes, it’s tough to judge really as you could argue it’s down to the coaches before Ryder. They did manage to come through under him though and I know Carol and co have sung his praise before. We may be able to judge more by what this opportunity is that he’s taken up. Just odd timing as well
