It's easy to forget that Hall left before the muck and the fan properly collided in that first season in League 1. I'm happy with Hall and Debrah (for now); concerned about Smith and Heneghan; not sure about Sang and John in the back three. Ultimately we very obviously need at least one new potential starter in the defensive unit regardless of how many of them remain with the club next year.

    It will be interesting in who steps up to the level, we all assume John and Tolaj will for example but we assumed Conlon and Hall for example would so there will be an element of waiting and seeing there. We know Byers, Curtis, Garrity, Clark are more than capable at that level and Stockley still got a modest return for a poor Fleetwood side. 

    Sang I don't think can do defensively in L1, he was not there last season consistently enough and did show some vulnerabilities this (Crewe A, Barrow H) at wing back, I like him going forward and can deliver a wicked cross but we dont really play with wide midfielders so then struggle to see how he fits in. He did ok as a centre half this season but I imagine very few sides will come to Vale Park and not have a go at us.

    He’s under contract but the keeper Belshaw has always impressed me going back to when he was at Bristol Rovers. Think he pulled off a worldy when Harrogate came to VP this season from memory.

    That means we’d have to pay a fee to get Loft back. He must still be under contract .

    Seriously though when you see some of these retained lists you realise how brutal it is. Just shows how squads are constantly being refreshed with easily 50% being new additions in a lot of cases.

    He signed a three year contract with them with a fourth year option. Best agent in the history of the game.

    Marosi I remember was an excellent keeper at Shrews. Not sure how his career trajectory has gone since but one that might be worth looking into.
