Summer transfer rumours and speculation

It would be good to see the players working on some ground improvements over the summer. Sprucing the place up a bit.

Bowers: How is Lorent Tolaj, Darren? Is he injured?

Moore: Unfortunately he's been ruled out for the whole season after putting his back out while painting the Railway Paddock bogs. He keeled over from the smell and it took Ben Heneghan 10 minutes to revive him.

Daft you.

They could start with getting the players gym out of the concourse. They won't need the gym while they're doing that.

I'd take Denver Hume off them if he fancies the step up. Was linked with us before.

Is Eastwood the goalie? I thought he had a great game against us, looked really confident in the air taking crosses.

Weren't we linked with him for a loan move from Aberdeen a couple of years ago?

Would you prefer he was wallpapering Rudgey's private bog?

Not released anyone. That’s a gamble going up a league.

We made the mistake of being too loyal before. Unfortunately, going up a league means some quite significant changes, or you come back down in short shrift. I hope we are fairly ruthless this time....even if it might upset some.

I dont understand why so many people think this squad will struggle in league one, it won't.

Carol said at the start of the season that we had recruited for league one and this squad is many, many times stronger than the one that got relegated. We have to get a new keeper and strengthen at centre back apart from that its just filling in the gaps the loan players leave and we are good to go for a respectable mid table finish. If we want more than that then fair enough we would need to invest more heavily but I don't think we should do that last season was a major rebuild with a lot of new faces coming in but this team has played together for a season now and DM knows them better so we should be able to hit the ground running.

We are already league one ready in my opinion.

I think the midfield is and the wing backs, think still light up front and don't think the defence is L1 ready as it is so need some work still

I think defensively we are going to have to do some serious upgrades. This is going to sound harsh but if all our out of contract centrebacks were moved on (and I'm also including Sang as I see him as a RCB) I wouldn't actually quibble. All of them bar Heneghan formed part of our L1 defences during our previous spell up there and those units conceded 71 in 22/23 and 74 in 23/24. If we went into next season with the bulk of that in place it brings to mind the old phrase about the definition of insanity.

Debrah is young and improving and in fairness we were doing ok until Hall left that first season but I do think we need 2-3 higher class central defenders, I expect that will be Moore's priority... awaiting the Sheffield Wednesday released list!

I think more than anything it highlights the gap in quality between divisions and more likely be punished for mistakes. This back three often was awkward in possession, that will get punished severely in L1 so don’t want to run the same risk again.

I know people have said this with Sheff Wed but from memory didn’t we only bring in two who played under him there last summer in Byers and Heneghan (the latter via Fleetwood)? Think we might be waiting a while on that list too if as is rumoured Danny Rohl is on his way out of there.

I think we will see one of two head this way, maybe Smith and a centre half. I think in L1 he will look more to players he trusts from his past.
