A lot of nervous nellies on here stop werriting. I promise you league one is nowhere near as tough as you are making it out to be its division three fgs. There are some biggish names in there that have you worried but they are there because they are in decline whereas we are on the rise. We beat many of the teams you are so worried about with a squad that was massively inferior to the current one. We will give every single team in that division a tough game and we will pick up enough points to finish at least 14th.

Come back and remind me at the end of the season if you like. Im not worried at all.

Who knows though, maybe Paton surprises us or Stockley earns an extension. I think you can overthink these things and worry too much though. 
 

I’ll give any signing and recruit the chance and best wishes over being too pessimistic. We’ve been promoted after all — it’s naive to expect the same set of players will all make the step up. They won’t. 

Easy to put names forward but keep wondering whether Forest’s Dale Taylor might be on our radar? Seems to fit the bill as a potential replacement for Stockley: 21, 6’1”, one in four average last season where he was Player of the Year on loan at Wigan. Still in contract but I would think little chance of graduating to Forest’s first team. Would certainly require a fee but good future prospect. I’d be very happy to see him at Vale Park either on loan or permanently.

Yes,I think they would want a really good fee for him,one that we could only afford if we sell a player for a big fee

The funny thing there is,there was a rumour about this yesterday and walsall fans on FB were saying they had spoken to Allen and he said no way was he leaving,he was going to stay for another season and if they went up he would sign a new deal ................ oh

I think the only rumour about was on that FLW site which said Marosi(and tbf to them they have got things pretty spot on so far) and then that other keeper was pictured at training

I am guessing he is one of the two that DM was saying were on trial and maybe the dutch player who was rumoured on here,DM said they were both for positions that needed filling
