Dear Sirs,

 

As a concerned supporter of Port Vale FC I would like to know why the green light has not been given for the takeover of Keith Ryder to become chairman.

At the moment we cannot sell shirts because we cannot announce a sponsor, we cannot fetch season tickets because we cannot announce a sponsor and the season is less than 2 weeks away.

Maybe if the Football league had been so long winded with Perry Deakin and Peter Miller and checked them out as thoroughly then my club would not be in the situation it is in now.

We aren't Notts Forest or Watford who seem to have had their funding approved almost overnight but we are a football club who have existed for nearly 140 years and deserve better treatment than we are getting from yourselves.

It may not do anything but at least some idiot may realise that we do exist and before anyone says it may delay the takeover further, it can't delay it any worse than it has done so far.

Regardless of whether there is a problem with the deal or whether the rumours are true, the bottom line is that us supporters have been treated like **** yet again!

 

why have the supporters been treated like **** and by whom? Because you expected the deal to be completed by now?

Hold on a min.You've implied that they give other clubs preferential treatment over ourselves & accused them of being incompetent. You could of worded better, that's all. I'll leave you alone.

One problem with your email mate, you are accusing the FL of dragging their feet and creating delays.

This is my first comment on the subject since the takeover was first announced.

I DO NOT THINK THE PROBLEM IS BEING CAUSED BY THE FL.

But underlying problems which we are not party to,with the new owner/s and the takeover itself.

Its all as clear as dishwater,but as i said i do not think the problem rests with the FL.

Another theory I have is that the FL simply don't like how 'successful' our administration has been. We are essentially on the verge of starting the season in a very healthy position compared to how we finished the last - are they concerned we haven't been punished sufficiently (which would be ludicrous, but in-fitting with their dreadful treatment of Luton).

There is an element of truth to that, several football league chairmen are deeply unhappy at the way several clubs, not Port Vale in isolation, have conducted themselves.

 

If that's true then that's ********. Most clubs enter admin through overspending - paying too much for poor players and generally living beyond their means (see Pompey, Leeds etc).

 

We have had a more frugal existence, modest wage budgets, no transfer fees. Yet we enter admin due to a bunch of (alleged) conmen (allegedly) bleeding the club dry while (allegedly) putting no money in.

 

We didn't enter admin through spending money we didn't have to play at a higher level than we should.

So if we ever exit admin scot free we won't be sending a message to other teams saying "spend big. Even if it doesn't work out you'll be ok". Our message is "don't let scum like that into your club in the first place" and we've already said it.

What would you suggest?

 

Wait until we get something confirmed from either Ryder, The FL or Young, then we can decide how to go about it. We don't even know if this hold up is down to the FL being over cautious or in fact Ryder is not happy about something & wants something changed? We just don't know. If you feel the need to Email the FL accusing them of things, then at least make sure of the facts first, that's all i'm saying.
