Well my Dad decided to take his old BSA and sidecar out for a ride to VP. I told him it would probably be the ticket office round the corner of the shop he'd need to visit.

Apparently not. Everything now goes through the shop and there was one big queue for people buying stuff as well as tickets.

An 84 year old standing for an hour and half wasn't a pleasant experience. Anyway he got his ticket for the car park and then tried to set off home.

Bike wouldnt start. Tried loads of things. Lady from the shop bought him a drink out. Then he needed a wee so the chaps doing work at VP let him use theirs. Called Green Flag who told him his breakdown was invalid for his bike as its over 16 years old. (Who knew this little trick?!). He eventually got hold of his classic bike insurer who arranged a lorry. This was going to be about 5 hours later at 7pm. Anyway the workers at VP spotted him and asked if he was ok. He told them the story. Dad asked if there was a chippy nearby - there was but too far for him to walk so the lads drove him while one looked after his bike.

7pm came and lorry turned up and off they went home.

Bit of a day out to say the least.

Bike problems aside, if this queuing system for tickets is normal its dumb. If you've got elderly people waiting you've got to be more pro-active making sure they are ok to wait that long.

Taken me ages to find this trampilot, I knew I had read it on a thread.

Anyway to cut a long story short, my classic car broke down this morning and I had to wait absolutely hours for  the AA to turn up. They did eventually and whilst driving to the garage, I was chatting with the driver about football (he was a Burnley fan) and he went on to tell me about picking an older chap (his words) up from the Port Vale car park that had a BSA motorbike and sidecar . He said it's the only time he had ever done a recovery for a bike and sidecar.

Can't be a coincidence can it, must be the same bloke. Glenn his name was.

How do you accumalate points on this system? I have a season ticket and purchased another for my grandson. I bought match tickets for my daughter and partner for the Tranmere game and purchased 3 tickets for Newport game on Saturday. Also got a ticket for the Wolves game tonight. My points have never changed from 150?

You won't get points for ordering tickets for other people. They will be added to their account. Your points for Wolves and Newport will be added after each game. (Doesn't always happen instantly after the game, but they do get added on)

They were ordered in my name as they don't have accounts

You still won't get the points as you've already had the points for your season ticket. You only get one set of points allocated to you each game. So if you've got a season ticket and buy 10 tickets for family members for the Chesterfield game, you'll still only get your season ticket points allocated to you.

I'm pretty sure they cracked down on this in the first season. People were getting free kids tickets on their account and gaining extra points.

OK thanks👍

I've got 125 points as I said to me m8 who has 430 odd how's that no that it matters I'd rather Vale have 125 points .

Season ticket holder last year and this I thought you would get a at least 250 for renewing however it was a different seat in same stand .

Like I say though not that it matters for a fan who only goes 2 max 3 away days a season .

Anyone know if you have to print the Newport tickets off or can you do it from your phone? I'm assuming you can just use your phone like at Vale.

Is there an option to add the ticket to your wallet or are you using the PDF of the ticket?  If the latter I'm guessing that it would work but I'm not taking any chances

theres a QR code you can show from your phone when you get newport ! scan it the same as at vale methinks ! i hope so coz thats what ive got 🤞
