Report directly to Moore, but in fact he may be part of the same problem.  Who knows?  But fans aren’t crying out for change other than the DoF, so the easiest way for Carol would be simply to make the change at the top and keep the infrastructure in place.

We don't know about Moore yet to be fair to him. You may be right that he will be a disappointment but we can't know until he gets out from under Flitcroft, who we are quite sure about...

Apologies, having re-read what I wrote I’ve not been clear, I meant the current Head of Recruitment, whose name currently escapes me, possibly being part of the same problem rather than Moore.  The point being made was that the current head could report to Moore directly rather than Flitcroft, who on the available evidence should be completely removed from the recruitment process.  This would give Carol a way of keeping her DoF in a job but hopefully go some way to appease fans, given the main issue in the stands is the state of the first team squad.

Sadly I can’t see it happening anytime soon and we’ll pay the price for the clubs lack of action by having an inferior product on view next season.

Even if the club came out and said that they are moving Flitcroft to the position of pot cleaner, it would not appease the fans because the trust's already  gone when it come's to him.

The only way of rectifying all of this,is, removing Flitcroft completely away from the club

I'm sure if Flitcroft was forced to take a backseat and Moore built a promotion team then fans would return and positivity would return to the club.

But then that's a best case scenario and why should such accommodations be made to keep an underperforming and vastly unpopular employee at the club?

Problem is Carol sees Failcroft as her Bessie mate not just an employee, won’t change till she snaps out of that

I disagree, nobody would seriously object to Flitcroft being assigned pot cleaning duties.

Recruitment is the main issue, footballing “philosophy” another.  Take those things away and I don’t think folk would care if he oversaw the kids, or training facilities or whatever.

For me it’s a common sense way of making a positive change given that the owners are seemingly entrenched in their defence of the DoF.  Just to add, maybe those who attended the recent meeting could add a bit more detail here.  Were the club saying that the DoF is essentially unaccountable?

She won’t snap out of anything. This is a conscious decision she has made and is quite insulting to her. If she was led by any old fool Synectics would never have done anything.

She, based on our budget decided to run a club on league 2 money and hope Flitcroft’s magic could do that in league 1. It has not worked but won’t blame Flitcroft because deep down, she knows he asked him for the impossible.

Moore has always worked under a DOF model hasn’t he? He has no record of calling the shots on recruitment.

Carol managed that at the start of this season despite record gates the previous one.

Port Vale cannot be self sufficient and compete in league 1.

I think that hes created so much damage amongst the support base that even if he was moved to those area's, the fan's would not trust that he's not involved with the first team recruitment.

The trust is that far gone that it needs a clean break
