Peterborough (A) match thread - 10th March

We are effectively playing a Championship side which hasn't yet been promoted.

When making comments about the abilities of our talented teenage players, who have so far experienced only (part of) a handful of senior games, it would be fair and constructive to remember that context.

We are playing a team currently in the same division and look about 5 leagues behind them. They have players who can run with the ball and shoot. Stronger, faster, just better athletes.

This “young players” theory that they will come good is baseless. Peterborough have the youngest squad in the EFL, all we have, regardless of age is one of the crappest.

I made a journey to so far see us barely do a thing for 84 minutes.

Just seen a new series on Netflix called Ripley. A horror story about a goalkeeper all alone with an absent defence all out of position and out of their depth. Will he survive

We simply have to get 6 points before Bolton thrape us.

Having not scored for 270 minutes I'm very concerned 🙃

Great goal for them. True gulf between the teams.

We really are so poor

Battered by a team with better football players - what an excellent side Posh are with a lovely mix of technical quality and athleticism.

The players are fighting and Moore is organising them in a better fashion than we have been for most of the season.

4 games left. 3 at home. 7 points needed.

All we can do is get behind this group on Saturday and Tuesday. Those games will decide the season.

Please end it ref
And the season. It's never ending [emoji3] longest season I've ever known!

Good goal that. 3-0 still probably not a fair reflection. Just end it now ref and we move to Saturday. Hopefully it won’t come down to goal difference

What do you think they do 5 days a week in training?

I'm not sure unfamiliarity is a justifiable excuse for this shower of <ovf censored>. It's simpler than that.

My point is that we don’t have a set way of playing. You don’t see us working patterns of play up the pitch or having some kind of identity (we haven’t had that since the promotion season) if we did you would have players knowing exactly what their roles are and building relationships with the players next to them and in front of them. Knowing what each other will do. My most recent example of that would be Worrall and Gibbo.

For example we play a different defence all the time. We play different wingbacks. We’ve been messing with formations. Moving players around all the time. We look disorganised like we don’t know what we’re doing. We look unsettled and dont even have the correct players for the correct positions.  Tonight’s shape and tactics would only have been walked through yesterday and every week is different because we aren’t playing the same way every week. It’s not enough time to work on tactics and formations. We are in panic mode trying to find something that works and it shows.

Just glad these are knackered and hungover from Sunday.

Any sane fan expected a loss tonight. This result will not have a bearing on the outcome of our season, our next 2 home games will tho. Let’s pack the park & keep the faith. We’ve got this 💙

Thanks to the traveling fans . Safe journey home. 🙏
