January Transfers and Rumours

Hearing rumours that Williams is heading back to Liverpool due to his injury issues; don't know how true that is but just heared it.  Also hear there's some Polish lad from either Barnsley or Shef U who's coming in, a defender.  Again - only a rumour.

Would be Lopata from Barnsley.

If true about Williams, then good God, what an almighty balls up. Maybe we should have read into why he hadn’t played all season at Aberdeen?

If that’s true, it makes a complete mockery of whoever is completing our medicals

Was going to say, if that's true the first half of the season ought to have told them something/rang alarm bells based on his "Aberdeen spell".  At least if we replace him with someone it's something I guess but piss up and brewery spring to mind.

It's comical, I have to laugh at Vale or I'd cry! I really would🤣😢

The spreadsheet said it was OK to go ahead with the signing! That's the same spreadsheet that said take off your best players when 2-0 up at home with 25 minutes to go so we draw 2-2 and go to ET!

Flitcroft has to go if this is true. He is directing football but creating a circus. It just shows he isn’t doing any proper due diligence if this is true and just getting any old Prem youngster on loan.

Calm down , Anthony. 😆🙄

Everyone is entitled to an opinion

With Wrexham splashing the cash do you think Ollie Palmer might be available? 32 years old and a goal every 3.75 appearances over his career.

Went to Wrexham for big money but is now 3rd or 4th choice there.

Burke would be an odd one, on loan I assume from my second team SV Werder Bremen but been at Birmingham City this season.

Scored the winner in a mental game for Bremen where they came from 2-0 down with a couple of minutes to go to beat Dortmund 2-3 in their own backyard and never really got a look in again.

Went to school in the town I am from in Leicestershire and my sister knows him so will have to do some digging on that one.

Baggies paid £15M for him apparently

Well ladies and gents welcome to the traditional Dave Flitcroft transfer deadline day panic!

In prior year's this has given us such success stories as Liam McCarron, Ryan Loft, Dennis Politic (2nd time) and Matty Taylor all under the guise of "squeezing the most value out of the market".

In positive news, all rumours of money troubles at vale should now be quashed as they are clearly still paying LancyTony to post his nonsense and abuse on here.

Amen to that walka 👍😆 Good post That is

He never managed to play a game during his loan at Aberdeen either.

Absolutely agree. I'd be pretty concerned about the medical team if it's true. We've already had several signings this summer who have broken down, despite the improvements to pitch and training facilities.

Two of them (Jones and Grant) were considered to be good enough to be handed 2 year deals (rather than the rather more obvious - you have had injury issues so it's a one year deal with an option if you play a certain number of games).

To bring in a player who isn't fit to make the squad for his first game is a bit worrying. It's not even like it's the first transfer window where that has happened (Matty Taylor).

However, to bring in a player who has to return because he is miles away from playing is a huge error!

Whoever we sign today, if anyone, it will be panic signings that were way down on the original list. We need so much work at both ends of the pitch one window was never going to fix it anyway, only put a band-aid on the glaring issues in the team.

I would suspect he's on big wages there though.

Too many posts in this thread for me. Are any of the guys strikers? Between the injured Uche, the semi permanent injured Wilson and prolific Massey, our forward line has amassed 5 goals in open play this season from 68 games. How scary is that?

Agreed but would Wrexham but looking to move him out? Thus a chance to lower wages?

Depends if it’s an injury or an injury.
