We play Galway United on 28th July

It's big for Galway because they're in a mess financially at the moment. I do believe the match is against Galway United supporters trust (GUST), who're having trials this week for fans to play in the match. Galway United FC play the league games over the summer so that might be why we're going to play against GUST.

Maybe fairer if we sent Portly Vale over to Ireland then?

The manager likely knows who he wants already. There are no trials to my knowledge and it is not a supporters pub team. Expect a tough game.

The supporters trust withdrew support for Galway United at the end of last season, after having kept it afloat for years and actually running it on behalf of the directors who had abandoned it, for the 2011 season. The trust is working towards entering the league in 2013 with a proper community club, that is accountable to the supporters.

There is currently no team in the League of Ireland representing Galway in the 2012 season. There are two local clubs from the city playing in it, but they struggle to draw support from the housing estates they are from. They drew 95 people to the derby match played between them last week.

Terryland Park is a nice venue and any of you that decide to travel will certainly enjoy yourselves.

Vale are playing Athlone Town on Sun. July 29th .

My buddy Sean Ryan, who lives in Houston TX is planning to be at that game whilst visiting his family in Thurles, only 60 miles away.

Sean is a great guy who fell in love with when he heard the name Port Vale on the BBC radio football results late one night back in the 6os (I believe).

He's also going to pay a visit to the Wembley of the North on July 18th and will be at the friendly against Alsager Town.

Look out for him and say howdy.
