As for a replacement , if they bother, there's at least 3or4 who spout the same old repetitive rubbish about our deluded neighbours so I'm sure there's enough to go around .

I hope that Steve can get sorted asap on the books or independent providing some proper focus on this region's football clubs Vale, Stoke City and Crewe, something that has been genuinely lacking in the national and footballing press over the last few years.

Steve was made redundant I believe about 3 weeks ago with a number of other staff

 

There really are some lovely people around here aren't there, glad so see people lose their jobs, others hoping players face retirement from the game in their early twenties

 

I know its a minority but they don't half tarnish the name of decent folk

Someone somewhere would have been sad when Deakin lost his job,i don't doubt that.But its what he deserved for his lies,incompetence,arrogance,deceit.In fact i hope he never works in such a high profile job again,or with any other football club.Minimum wage,hard,dirty heavy job is about all he should get.I have spoken to Steve and i have respect for him.Deakin has zero respect.Hope you get fixed up soon Steve.

It did though, admittedly not very big in the paper itself, but local papers are dying with so many ways to access information these days, so it's hardly likely they'll trumpet it from the rooftops.

Its a simple difference really,Steve has been made redundant due to the reorganisation by Northcliffe in an attempt to arrest falling profits within the group.Steve has gone along with many many others, I would guess not far short of half the employees have gone in the last 3 years.

 

Deakin went because he he was economical with truth end of.
