That was in 1999.  For some reason league position was decided on GF, rather than GD, that year.  If it had been GD we would have been relegated.  I was there that day.  I remember singing "we only need 10 men" after Tommy Widdrington got sent off (so unlike Tommy), and, "you only need 10 more" after they scored.  Loved going to see the Vale during the 90's, when I was in the UK.

Not at the same level of class and pure quality. Pity you can't bring yourself to 'imagine' last season's success and quality as being anything other than in spite of DC

Out of interest, what was your reaction when MA put the whole squad on the transfer list?
