TBH, I don't understand the hoo-ha over this. If someone like MC wanted such info for himself, he could find it, and probably a lot more, privately. I'm getting sick and tired of endless speculation regarding the motives of our only publically declared potential buyer.

 

I think that's the point, Simon - he might be a publicly declared potential buyer, but as yet he hasn't seen fit to make a bid. He might decide not to for all we know........and no, I'm not suggesting he won't, but it doesn't give him any right to know who else has bid at this stage.

The other "bidders" have actually submitted ones, even though we don't know how much and who they are - and the fact that he and (originally) IPP declared a public interest in bidding might have been daft on their part, since they made others aware of their interest.

 

In the end, we will find out all we need to know - but maybe we won't have any say in the final decision. I think that might not be a wholly bad thing, given that it always creates arguments on here about what should or shouldn't happen......

I agree with that save your first point. What I would suggest is that he would not make any such statement if he were not intending to bid. He would only be pouring ridicule on himself. We all know him well enough to realise that he would never do that. His ego would see to that:)

You're probably right - correction, you're DEFINITELY right - your last point - I totally concur, he couldn't possibly NOT make a bid after all !!!
