Horse & Grew to stay

Mark Grew played 277 games in total during his career including 184 for Port Vale and the rest for teams at Championship level mostly. A goalkeeper does not often come on as substitute so that kept his total down. I think the coaches we have, including Micky Adams, all have experience of playing at a higher level than the current team - mostly. Therefore, they know what is required to improve. In coaching terms Micky Adams has managed at higher levels, including the Premier League, and therefore I trust him to know if his current coaches can be effective at this level.

I think Port Vale has had a series of weak managers - Horton, Foyle, Glover, Sinnott, Gannon - at the heart of where we are. Adams is the solution and was the solution in his first visit.

Getting back on topic slightly does the fact that both are staying show that finiancially (when you exclude the debt) we are not in too bad a state?

My limited financial expertise tells me that for us to be viable as a business then money in needs to at least = money out?

If money out (and I'm assuming ST money even if spent will have formed a part of the decision) was greater than money in then grew/the horse/both will have gone??

To me bud, it indicates that either they stay....or Micky goes. Also, an underlying trait may be that the Administrator is of the very firm opinion that the club will prosper and have new owners quite soon, and that the 'possibles' may already have indicated their desire to hang onto the managerial staff already in place.

I agree, I think it indicates that buyers have shown an interest and keeping players/coaches/manager makes selling it easier as there is less work to do when bought.

I wouldn't miss Grew thou, I don't think his pre-match training sessions are much good for our outfield players and I don't feel he has worked much to iron out fairly obvious weakenesses in the keepers.

What is wrong with our current coaches? I don't expect an answer of 'they are ****'. Constructively, please follow up your comment above and explain what is wrong with our current setup.

I am not suggesting that everything is rosey and they are the best coaches in the world. I would just like to know why you feel that we need to get rid of all of them.

OK then, care to explain how these 2 coaches got the best out of the players when Gannon was in charge?? Did you honestly think that promotion would have been possible this season with these players because imo they can be decent on their day, but when it really counts they fail so often Home and Away. Micky Adams is the only person thats gets anything out of this VERY ordinary squad.

The next couple of days are going to be rough for some players. It seems the terminating of contracts will happen this week so I hear:ohmy:

Didnt a statement come out this week saying that we wont loose any players? I could well be wrong, may have just made this up but im sure i saw something on that.
