This guy walks in and thinks his fresh ideas will sell seson tickets. Expect some aggresive strategy folks, ie buy your ticket before say July 1 and it will be a fraction of the price than afterwards - an attempt to sway the B&G support. Stand firm people!!

I was just about to post a similar thing.

ST prices will soon be announced, press will be used extensively, initial sales will get published showing how well sales are going [ pre paid via direct debit will be included ]

There will be loads of hype coming out to make fans think every one else is buying and no one is really following the starve em out campaign.

Its a real shame that V2001 left this appointment until they were taking their last breaths and the guy wasnt facing an uphill struggle to get revenue out of supporters who hate his employers with a passion.

His CV is impressive enough and if Moxey and Brady are prepared to offer references he must be doing something right. Its an appointment that should have happened 3 seasons ago though in conjunction with a root and branch clearout following Foyles departure.

This is too little too late for V2001, and unfortunately for Mr Deakin it is likely to be a black spot on an otherwise impressive career history.

In normal circumstances I would of been quiet positive with Perry Deakins appointment, however, I cant help feel sorry for him, he is clearly being used as the latest pawn in the boards desperate attempt to cling onto power.

What a shame V2001 didnt appoint Perry or someone of his quality instead of giving the job and the 60k a year to bratty, we might not of ended up in such a financial mess if they had left it to the professionals.

Perry's job to find financial revenues to cover the losses of the club would of been difficult enough in the current ecconomic climate, however, I hope that with the pending 'Starve Them Out' campaign his task is going to be impossible.

Don't take things personally Perry, the majority of fans want the board out, there are only a select few who want/need you to suceed.

"The Chairman and the rest of the board have done an incredible job here over the last few years. They have invested a significant amount of money into the club and it is really a case of building on those foundations."

Is he for real? Just wait til four weeks' time when they haven't sold any season tickets

Some good points there,What has Bratt done for the last 6 years for his salary if they now need to get someone in to sell advertising?

The board have stitched Deakin up, its his problem raising money in the most difficult times in living memory apparently The FA Cup has'nt got a sponsor for next year.

There will be alot of competition for money over the next 12-18 months and advertising at Port Vale wont be at the top of many companies agenda's.

If the revenues fall it will be Deakins fault, and when they hand over to Mo he will get the push, wonder if the board told the truth and the whole truth when he was interviewed answers on a postcard ===

He was taken on a "walk by tour" of Lorne St, looks quite good. built with directors money? You have to take a new employer`s word for it, opening the box could be a surprise. All part of the learning curve.

Guest Statto's Chauffeur

Best quote is from Mr Bratt who will continue as chairman said " I am happy to stand aside and get a better candidate in"

So how do you justify the £50k per year you've been taking then?:whistling:
