Stadium Improvements

Boslem's Brazil

Recommended Posts

See the Lorne street now appears to have completely been re seated so looks smart.

Not sure if they plan to do the lot rather than the patches if older seats or the odd wrong coloured one but certainly starting to look much better!

Once we can get that Lorne Street stand finished internally it will be good to see it!
I daw a picture of the bycars before and what it looks like now like it has also been completely re-seated. Good job all around.

The stadium really is looking great. I was quite vocal about the way the facilities had deteriorated under the previous ownership. It’s a fantastic effort from all concerned.

A mute point, but I’ve never understood why we have yellow seats (or blue for that matter). We play in black and white. Clubs like Newcastle and Notts County use these colours, why can’t we?

We first had yellow on the home kit in 1897 and blue in 1900. The home kit was entirely yellow for 5 years straight between 58-63. God knows how many away kits have been yellow/gold and or blue. It’s hardly an alien concept, I definitely associate those colours with Vale. Our names sewn in 3rd kit effort a few years ago was Wedgewood blue for a reason.

I can see why they did the seats in this way, although I think yellow instead of white/black was a mistake only because how the seats fade from UV damage over time. All white wouldn’t, black might a negligible amount.

The current one was a Gorm initiative, and it just reminds me of Gorm, and his six years of incompetent misery and failure.

The previous one was iconic.

A lot of clubs have changed badges in recent years and I think they're usually worse off for it. A lot of clubs are all getting identical circular slick badges, it's boring and a bit corporate and americanised.

Man City's previous eagle badge was cool as. The current one is like a thousand others but repainted.

I'd love to see the old badge back with the Burslem crest on the back, like in 2009.

Thats acceptable, as long as we don't lose our community identity, unlike that lot down the road. The old badge is testimony to the greats of our semi final and Sproson, which outway the memories of Scumthwaite

Exactly it represents Vale's community and attaches it to Burlsem and represents the old and new. It looks so much better on the kit and merchandise too.
