What are our expectations/targets for the rest of the season?

Same as the start if the season, survival.

 

Every season Smurf is the owner the only thing we can hope for is not going out of the football league.

 

I still unfortunately believe Port Vale will see National League football under the current ownership.

These are more the things I'm hoping for, rather than expectations:

 

- Aspin is backed with the money in Jan now we're sticking by him, as despite his apparent tactical shortcomings I feel with some money he could build a decent side, especially if he's offered getting on for half a million (although not holding my breath on this one considering who we've already missed out on). He would get who he wants, & start to play a proper system, with all starting 11 in their correct positions.

 

- We finish in the top half, or with at least 55-60 points, as has been previously mentioned.

 

- A win on Tuesday, & trip to Wembley later in the year for the Checkatrade.

 

- If all of the above were to happen, I'd assume we'd be watching it anyway, but basically, some enjoyable football!

 

That would be a successful season for me. However, my actual expectations are that we go out on Tues, sign very little quality this month (probably a few loans) & finish similar to last year, maybe a few points better.

 

Not really enjoyable football yet, but got that win at least...

I will be very surprised if we stay in league 2 we were very lucky to survive last season and it's tempting fate to have to rely on two worst performing teams two seasons together so survival will do for me I'm a realist so no bullshyte about the playoffs and 50 points as we have more chance of plaiting gorilla snot the way we are playing at present.

 

Yes its not great at the moment but in all our history we have only had a few seasons when we have not struggled one way or another. I'm sure you have stated you don't attend anymore over the last couple of seasons so not sure how you can state on the way we are playing with any authority.

With respect,I think the league position speaks volumes and also we haven't won a home game since October thats enough to put the most ardent supporter off so I think it's obvious how we are playing.
