I think the reason that the ref didn't give the penalty against Quigley as he knew, like us, that Quigley is never interfering with play.

It's clear that Brabin and Aspin must share the same 1960's style footballing DNA, and not only is it so old fashioned and ugly to watch, it's one if they continue pursuing it, that will surely only end in tears or more likely, at some stage a UB40!

 

 

We have several experienced players in Brown, Legge, Joyce, Tonge, Pugh, Kay, Worrall, Dodds and Pope plus maybe Smith to some extent. Surely some of them must have a say on what they think is going wrong with the tactics during the week. The fans seem to be able to see what the problem is but two really experienced men in the game (Aspin and Brabin) can't see it, neither could Brown, Kelly and Morgan before them. The football is dreadful and I'm just glad that I no longer attend away games. Much more of this and the home games will stop after this season. Fed up of the rubbish on offer and the awful match day experience.

BTW One of the coppers said that there was far more trouble at lower league games because Premier League fans are so passionate about their teams they don't want to get banned from seeing them. What complete and utter rot! Try going away to watch a team without an away win since December. That's passion.

Aspin and Brabin may well have a good deal of experience between them, but speaking to Tranmere supporters in the pub before the game, and without me having to tell them what kind of tactics they were likely to see from PV, to a man they told me not to bother, insisting that if Brabin is involved they already knew!

 

They weren't wrong!
