My defintion of a 'happy clapper' is one who just sticks their head in the sand and tries to pretend nothing is wrong and that getting behind the lads is all that is required for the club to win and get promotion. The happy clapper also believes anything the club tells him/her and gets ridiculous pleasure out of anything that happens on the field, including embarrassing defeats.

So, it isn't really about those who support the team, its about those who are prepared to put up with any kind of humiliation because "real Vale fans just get behind the team".

I won't be drawn into your arguments MB2, people who know me well know the reasons for my loyalty, shall we leave it at that.;)

I don't know you and I don't understand your loyalty, so why don't you explain it to me?

I'm not looking for arguments, I'm trying to understand a different point of view to mine.

Not sure why, but this bit disappeared from my post....

The stand off's that started between board and supporters started a long time ago, but there could of been attempts made by the board (previous/current) to stop them, but instead they were fueled.

Now we have a situation where apathy has become a bigger danger to the club, than the board themselves.

No, I was working in Carlisle and stayed there overnight.?

This is simple. I did not attend the supporters club meeting on Thursday, I was in Carlisle and stayed up there overnight. On Friday I drove home 140 miles home and since my home is on the Wirral I did not drive another 140 miles to Burslem and back to watch the game on Friday because I was tired. Don't join two events up!
