This is yet another poorly thought out decision by Smurf, he should have started the search for a quality manager who is prepared to come to PVFC and have him lined up before firing MB. How Smurf managed to make his alleged millions is well and truly beyond me.

 

Chris Morgan and Kelly are now at the helm, they "might" be replaced by a "temporary disciplinarian" (Smurf's words not mine) before a new permanent manager is appointed. Vale fans can only hope that "the temps" manage to get a few wins or even turn things around to prevent Vale becomming well and truly adrift at the bottome of Lge 2 before a permantent guy is appointed.

 

Are Vale better off now than before the FGR game?, I'd say no as now there is more chaos, more uncertainty with the same owner who continues to make poor decisions. Football people who care about the club have to be involved in finding the new manager 'cause it's absolutely paramount that the right person is appointed.

 

Avoiding relegation this season is an absolute must and I for one am "praying" for a turn around by Morgan and Kelly or whoever is appointed.

Were the assistants unable to change Brown`s tactics/formation/subs? Or are they of like minds? We shall see if they are still in charge at Yeovil.

I doubt that Morgan will be any different to Brown. As a player he was basically a thug and any ceribral material is, I suggest, at a premium. He should already have been relieved of his duties and let's hope that he is not in the position too long. But, this is Smurfthwaite we're talking about, so any result is possible. My thoughts are that no new manager will be in place inside the next month, by which time we may already be cut adrift at the bottom, making any new incoming managers job harder than it is at this moment in time. We had difficult times in the mid 60's & late 70's/ early 80's, but this is now reaching critical proportions.
