I think people seem to miss the days of protest and being seen as 'important', that's why they'll find anything to moan about. Like I've said before, smurf says a lot of things, some of them stupid, but are things really as bad as some would have you believe?

 

Basically, 90% of the players offered contracts aren't good enough anyway. Perhaps smurf knew that Page wouldn't have the balls to get rid and so gave him a piss poor budget because he knew that most would reject and leave.

 

I'd be amazed if a new manager wasn't backed financially and we've got the best players under contract. We've lost far better players before and it hasn't ruined us has it?

Gutted Dodds is leaving. I think last season proved he is a valuable member of the squad.

 

The new manager will have some rebuilding to do as i am sure there will be others leaving over the next few weeks.

The politics of the boardroom are precisely **** all to do with anyone on here until they make Smurf an offer and he accepts it. Port Vale is not a democracy and the chairman can put his foot in his mouth as many times as he likes. If I was him I wouldn't go about things in they way he does but each to their own.

 

People keep banging on about budgets but what are the alternatives- breaching FFP/ huge debt/ administration again/... where does it end? I've even seen ridiculous statements on Facebook (the "wonder of Port Vale is an absolute *****-fest, I actually read it for a laugh) that he's running the club into the ground because he can't find a buyer!! I've never heard such nonsense- people need to stop throwing their toys out of the pram in general
