According to Page "It has been in the papers the budget is going to get cut next year so we have to cut our cloth accordingly. So, we will have to see."

So in other words reading between the lines Smurf hasnt done the decent thing and discussed the budget situation with his manager or told him of the situation, hes had to find out via the press.

Not a good working environment for the manager who despite all the criticism from certain quarters hasnt done that bad a job to get us into mid table.

I'd certainly agree with that. For me, he's a rookie manager who has promise. As he says in the Sentinel article pretty much all his summer signings (despite, I seem to remember, criticism of people like AJ and Kelly at the time) have had an impact on the first-team and arguably improved it.

He's made mistakes but these are jumped on and banded around by some as if Page has committed a crime - rather than the fact he's not faultless and is still learning.

I personally think that time and time again, continuity in football management tends to reap dividends - look at Wycombe keeping faith with Ainsworth after he narrowly avoided taking them out of the league and now he's on course for his second successive play-off push; Tisdale at Exeter who gave them a lucrative cup tie this season and so on.

I'm not saying Page is perfect, I'm not saying that he will definitely be amazing for the club but I do think with his signings, his attitude (not surly with the media/fans like Adams - has coped well with all the external stuff happening) and certainly the style of play earlier in the season - he has shown glimpses of real potential if only people won't jump on his back every time he (as a human being) makes a mistake.

In my opinion though I have been critical of Rob Page's negative tactics away from home the bloke deserves much credit for soldiering on and working under the constant restraints and conditions that the owner has placed and his threats to continue cutting into next season.

Without a doubt the squad of 2015-16 is stronger than last season with the exception of a proven target man who has never been adequately replaced.

Do you think that there is any indication that he has learned from his mistakes? To keep on trying something that has failed many many times is not a good sign and gates are dropping. Why?
