...Ref usually inspects the pitch after arriving anyway. I expect that if there is any doubt (and I'm sure there will be), he will turn up a bit earlier and do the necessary deed. Realistically, a decision either way needs to be made by say 11ish (?) to prevent the Cov fans' coaches travelling.

if there is a pitch inspection it will no doubt be called off probably by the same ref we brought in for the swindon farce. how much does plastic sheeting cost these days or can we not afford it?;)

 

...the difference between the takings from tomorrows travelling fans and the lesser number who will travel on a Tuesday night, would surely more than cover the cost for the plastic sheeting required.

Three season ticket holders who sit next to me travel from well outside the ST area. I am surprised by the number of matches postponed today and fully agree that there should be a statement on the Vale website - even if it is one to say that the match defiinitely goes ahead.

A new groundsman, Speedy's probably been there since the early hours of this morning busting a gut to get the pitch ready. And no doubt he'll do the same tomorrow, nobody knows that pitch better than Speedy and to even suggest we need a new groundsman is, quite frankly idiotic.
