The gate is over 200 down on the same game in pre season last year, on pretty much the same date, despite Walsall having taken 60 more this year than last.

 

Just about 300 less Vale at this year's game than last year's despite this being our sole home pre season game.

It's peak holiday time. Hardly anybody will be there

 

Partly,most will be off somewhere when the whole family are more than likely off at the end of August.

 

I still think it could be a sign of things to come with it being our only home game pre-season friendly.

Gate last year was over 1300 but with only 150 Walsall fans. Was pretty much the same date as well so time of year can be ignored.

You say meaningless Jean, but let's assume that each person would have spent say £7.

 

All of a sudden, in a meaningless game, we are £1400 down on what we probably should have been looking at for the game.

 

Not a huge amount granted, but it's another £1400 we'll have to find from elsewhere. To look at it one way, it's a wage for a week for a decent player, and for some of the squad it dare say it's a couple of weeks wages.

In our one and only home pre season friendly, Like it or not its terrible, Its a sign of things to come, I expect 5-6000 1st home game thanks to a decent Crawley following but after that it will dip.

We also had an additional friendly last year, Aberdeen wasn't it? So some people may have chosen to go to that game instead of Walsall. No such distractions this time round and the home gate still drops by 25%. ===

Depends on the attraction, about 32000 at Leicester today, live broadcast to Thailand. Maybe because it is Real Madrid, but I remember us above them in the league, now they are after a CF for £7m. But we are where we are.
