Have been saying for years, and even to a a high ranking Police officer, that some idiots frequent Burslem Park after home games. Now here is the crux of the situation .

Most of the idiots tend to be behind the railings after the game. Now the only gate I know of is just about 50 yards up from the entrance to the Hamil Road Main entrance car park (I welcome correction on this). It takes about 10 mins to get from the ground to that gate and then back down behind the railings to be opposite the away fans. Now consider it will take away fans less than 2 minutes to exit the ground and be on the away car park, well the logistical maths just dont add up.

Unless that is these idiots are already in the park at the point of the match ending. Which either means that the idiot element have left the match 10 mins early or you have a bunch of idiots who havent watched the game and are just there for a rumble and to cause trouble.

Here is the big one though, I have been told that the idiots are not infact Vale fans, in fact they very rarely wear anything ir show anything to suggest they even follow Vale. The rumours are (yea they are rumours) that actually its Burslem and Kidsgrove based N40 members out to try and get Vale into trouble.

The police are aware of this but allegedly dont have the resources to investigate apparent social media arrangements through private messages. The problem is though that they dont do it every wewk, they select teams with a reputation visiting Vale.

 

Now Im not saying all vale fans are saints and this is pub rumour. Vale fans certainly dont need an excuse to get in a rumble, but all flames need a spark and I now think that closing Burslen Park has removed this element. It certainly has been quieter after recent home games.
