We wait nearly 3 months for a competitive game, then 2 come along in 3 days. Just hoping the result will follow previous cup trends, with the home teams winning. Dont know what the Clarets attitude to the game will be, although they have plenty of choice having just dropped out of the Prem.

Go again with the same eleven and for a few more games to come. This chopping and changing every game achieves naff all. If it's not working after half a dozen games then make your changes.

I'd disagree. Andoh should start over Kelly.

The manager could play safe and keep the same starting 11, however, those players dominated a game and had 60/40 % of the possesion according to the BBC. We also had far more shots at goal but not many on target. He could play safe and that will be his choice but as an opinion I would hope he takes into account that probability says that we will exit at this round and he has a fine opportunity to try out the Uche/AJ partnership for say an hour against tougher opposition. Dodds was given his chance and whilst he didn't disgrace himself he could have finished better with the good opportunity he had. A look at another partnership in the League cup 1st round isn't going to do Vale any harm at all.

I agree! Go for it and try AJ with Ikpeazu...could be a great partnership. Big clubs always fall at this early stage. We have a great chance.

If you are going up for your ticket avoid Boslem town, 4 way traffic lights bang in the middle by PO Vaults.

It's all about opinion but not AJ and Uche but Ikpeazu and Andoh.....it's that Toshack and Keegan thing....play Brown and Grant in front of the back four for extra security and Moore and Foley wide as the out ball but mostly playing on the break that front two has pace to burn and any havoc caused by big Uche resulting in a loose ball to be pounced upon then Andoh is superhuman quick.

I'd be tempted to just stay with the same team for now and see what it can do. Consistency in the side is what we need this season as I never felt Page had a first choice 11 last season and it showed with constant changes all around. Dodds and Kelly will probably be the ones most under scrutiny but both did ok Saturday and deserve a go at home.

Id say take dodds out for AJ go 4-4-2 and put andoh in for kelly on the wing, and bascially we just need to bully Burnley and run at them. That way we might have a chance! Somehow i can see an upset on the cards, or at least a replay at Turf Moor.
