That's true. Micky Adams seemed to ignore the young lads when he was here before. Our Young Player of the Season got 20 minutes under him!

 

Seems though now Micky is changing his stance regarding younger players.I wonder why?Let's hope it comes off .

didnt MA offer Page the assistant managers job once, before Geoff Horsfield came, but turned it down , and didnt Page get in LG2 team of the season ????

 

Page was offered a player-coach role at Vale in July 2009 under Micky Adams, but he decided to stay at Chesterfield.:yes:

You have to ask the question, why is he changing his stance?

 

Is this a new philosophy that will now run through the club - a clearly thought out vision to develop and procure young talent rather than buy in experienced pros - that was Gannon's vision - transition from youth to first team.

 

Or is it simply a reactive policy - we are skint and can't afford to do anything else?

If it was the former than I would certainly buy in to this policy. However I don't think this is the case for a second.

:yes::yes:Unfortuneately.Young players can be introduced gradually to get the best and improvement out of them IMO.I doubt this will be the case with the players he is bringing in.We just haven't got the numbers to do that.Hope the new signings do well ,let's hope so.

Funny how Micky didnt want anything to do with youth first time around, yet now declares its the way forward.

 

Some of us can see the wood for the trees you know. The rest will be crying come winter time, if not sooner.
