... I did spot the smiley, but sadly there is no provision for a recall on any 28 day loan! We will be relying on Ryan Boot should Neal get injured.

 

I think we will have a 24 hour recall on him - I think the rules on loan keepers are different than outfield players - though I may be wrong!

You can certainly "emergency loan" 'keepers outside of transfer windows

Don't rate him. Probably about his level. Doubt he will ever reach the levels of Chris Neal. He is too quiet and doesn't command his defence like a keeper should. If anyone was at the MK Dons away game last season it was painful to watch him at times.

As someone else has said it's a great move for both parties as long as there's a short loan recall in the contract. Sam Johnson has bags of potential and needs to be playing games, however, Chris Neale is simply awesome at the moment and is rightly first choice.

Definitely a good move for everyone concerned - including Ryan Boote - who sat on the bench for a lot of last season when Sam was in goal.

Personally I really rate Sam Johnson and I hope he goes on to have a good career. I like Chris Neal as well and I can't remember us ever having so much strength in the goalie position with two keepers who could both claim the regular No.1 spot.

 

Playing at Alfreton must be better than sitting on our bench so I hope it works out well. At least he should get plenty of goalkeeping practice!!

I was there and to be fair it was painful to watch the entire team. To single him out in a terrible, terrible performance is just plain stupid and blinkered.

I agree, he's better than that level, also what level of experience is he getting.

 

The experience of playing at a level where he should take control of the defence and command his area. Their defence is pretty poor so I assume they need some commanding and as others have said he needs to assert himself, because he is a 3rd division player and they are none league. If he cant prove to them that he is good enough then that will be an indicator as to how he will fair further up the league. At some point in every ones career they need to be tested - If he cant command at that level then he wont command a 3rd division defence
