That was a brilliant performance and exactly what I want to see from England. Thought other than Downing the players were excellent. Im a big critic of Rooney but that was an excellent performance. Even Smalling had a very good game. Clyne is quality and far better than Glen johnson. Wilshire was brilliant, superb goal from Ox. Really enjoyed that game. Referee was outstanding, let the game run, best Ive seen.

Yeah, the referee definitely understood the occasions and did excellent throughout. Where was he from?

Also Lallana still needs to start for me, he has quality on the ball, and can create something out of nothing.

Sad to see the demise of Scottish football, why can't they produce players of the like of Dalglish, Archie Gemmil, Don Masson Alan Hanson and Souness etc anymore?

Why hate him? I understand hating footballers that have committed crime or don't you personal harm but to hate someone simply because he is the england manager is odd.

 

It's always been the same with england managers, blame the man in charge and not the players that constantly achieve nothing.

 

Who would do a better job and don't say twitchy or that self fulfilling prophecy that is Rodgers?

 

Personally i would go with a foreigner, someone like di Matteo.

 

You cant blame the players for stupid tactics, daft formations and shocking selections. Lack of effort yes, but look at the world cup, we played a system we hadnt played during qualifying for the previous two years and the friendlies we did play resulted in us losing to a crap side, drawing with another and only just beating a semi pro nation.

It's a chance to test things out.

 

Playing form players is always a good thing in the case of someone like Downing who is in last chance saloon as far as his international career is concerned.

christ, why not try michael brown in there for a game if we are recalling has beens who had one good game in a career.
