I understand he is Joe Davis' dad but should he really be telling Vale what they should be doing with their players including Joe and Hugill?

 

Maybe Micky should comment on their lack of signings and failure to keep people like Moore and Clayton?

In essence, I am happy for a father to talk about his son, especially as he appears to be unofficial advisor (the contract was "derisory" tends to suggest he is). That's fair enough. It's only natural, he'd defend him.

 

But I think the comments about Hugill are ill-informed and ill-advised.

 

I think most fans would think Hugill hasn't moved because of lack of first-team football (as Davis tries to argue), as he'll have less chance of first-team football at PNE, I would say. Hugill moved because of money and his agent, I reckon and Davis really should keep his comments to his son.

I appreciate that Davis is probably responding to a question from the Sentinel etc however he surely knows that any comments made about the Vale youth set up is only going to wind up Micky!! If I was Davis I would concentrate on getting his own team in order first before commenting on what Crewe like to think are their "local rivals" especially after the lucky escape they had last year. Good old Crewe always promoting youngsters!!!! Yawn!!!!
