Feeder club and parent club :). is it a good idea or not?

Massive overreaction.

A feeder club would not make us lose "138 years of history" or our identity. It is in no way linked to the League 3 proposal. Port Vale would not be assimilated into Stoke City, WBA etc.

There would be an agreement between the two clubs in which players would be loaned from the parent club to the feeder club, with the wages being paid by the parent. Sometimes a fee is paid between the clubs or a pre-season friendly. The feeder club has no obligation to play the player, although that would defeat the point.

If we can get 1-2 highly rated youngsters from a midlands Prem/Championship team, give them the valuable playing time they need and then send them back after a season then everyone is happy. Our squad is bettered and the parent gets development.

I really don't see the problem. We all clamour for youth players being loaned to us (Knott and Grimmer), and this makes the situation 10x easier.

Isnt that what teams have basically been doing for years?

My only issue would be if the feeder club had any say in the affairs of the err..feedee

Don't play this player

Do play this player

Do take this player

Train the players this way

Don't train them this way

Play this player in this position

etc

etc

I know similar things happen with loan players but I fear that a feeder club arrangement would take it too far

Hagrid knocked it on the head we would basically get first refusal on the parents club players to go out on loan, probably an annual friendly and a small fee. Likewise if we produced the next Joe Hart or big name lower league player they would have first refusal provided they met the valuation of another club. So if Hugil had knocked in 30 goals and we were selling him for a certain amount the parent club could match the fee other clubs offered and get the chance to sign him. It is not a case of us being a B team.
