Sam Johnsons on the ****

Very disappointing to see Sam having a few beers in my local on Bradwell Lane this evening when we have another match on Sunday. Don't get me wrong i like Sam & wish him all the best and i take no exception to our players having a drink after a home win but when we have fixtures this close and especially when we concede a goal that is generally considered our keepers fault i think its about time the professionals who play for us take stock and asses the situation. This is not a personal attack on Sam but hopefully a wake up call. I will get plenty of reply's to this telling me to leave it and let him enjoy himself and that's expected after a win but you lot wouldn't be this forgiving if this was only a few days ago after MK Dons. I don't post often on here but i attend most home and away fixtures during a season so my view is more than valid. I've seen Sam regualary in the casino and in pubs in Bradwell /Wolstanton - you could argue what does that say about me - well i'm not a pro athlete. I would like to end on this note - Sam do you want to live the dream of millions and be a pro footballer or do you want to **** it all away in pubs and casinos like so many others have? the balls in your court young man

Arguably some footballers live a clean life and play above their level or play on for longer, others like a drink and don't live up to their potential.

I'd be furious if I were Micky. No player should be drinking during a season. There's no excuse for it.

Depends how many. He's local and he's entitled to go out and socialise with friends and/or family, especially at this time of year, within reasonable limits.

i appreciate that but as far as im concerned when we play on a thurs then a sun a resonable limit is zero. Every single member on here would be in in uproar if the players they pay to see aren't 100% and lose and i agree with them.

No issue with a drink but there's a time and place for it and unfortunately over Christmas players have to make sacrifices. I'd give up drink for life if i could be in his shoes for just one season but i understand players are human and like a drink but come on boys not 2 days before a match especially when you have had a shocker

Was Sam at fault for any MK Dons goals? Was he at fault for todays goal? The 'general consensus' from where I sat was that we shouldn't be letting a bloke hit the ball from the edge of the box towards the goal. Do you really think that posting on here will wake him up:doh: Apart from that if he has a couple of beers with Adams consent that that's fine only they will know and I'm sure that he does. My only recommendation is that he drinks in Wolstanton rather than Bradder, you get a better class of clientele.

Leave the lad alone and let him chill out.

As i was at MK Dons yes he was a fault for the second goal. Do i expect this wake him up? no not at all but hopefully some senior pros will see this and advise him better. He's a good young player and i want him to be a top player for Vale
