I can still see it clearly hit on the volley and the ball smashed against one post and then ricocheted off the other one before nestling in the net back on the side the ball originally hit. All this happened before the keeper even moved!

An unforgettable memory.

Chamberlains goal was part of a 5 goal win? Bernie Wright blatantly hand balled before one the goals.Chamberlains has always been my favourite .Oh for videos from the sixties and seventies.

 

A great game for the Vale, at Crewe. For some reason I was sat in the stand about 3 seats from Bob Stokoe (still Sunderland Manager at the time, I think). Chamberlain's goal was an absolute corker of an overhead kick. Bernie Wright got a hat-trick as well. Great night!!!
