Hi Please post on OVF.I do not make bold statements just facts Ecx Wolves and Cov our gate receipts circa 30k.Payroll of whole club 300k pm

Shortfall 210k pm before other income.I have Inv 600k in improvements in Club so far which is a one off.Cup proceeds should reduce my input

Im missing something....

Excluding wolves and coventry....

Gate receipts 30K... payroll 300K... shortfall 210K .. shouldnt the shortfall be 270K

If the above is before other income [as stated] shouldnt that also include other expenditures? utilities, rates etc etc

Ending the development squad next season would save 300k which is a relatively large chuck. It seems a step to far too soon.

One problem seems to be the suppliers. I mean my missus has wanted to buy me stuff for Xmas from the shop and non of it is arrived in stock. Money lost potentially as fans want to spend but can't. Teething issues for a new chairman which he will learn as a good businessman.

Next year we will probably have to lose a couple of players, we have a big squad bar defensively so the manager could need to go for quality and lose so of the excess players the Taylor's, Dodds, Mohammed's.

It's no secret that he has always stated we were debt free as he was paying it off as we lost it.

The Dev squad (the production line) costing 300k a year = its got to average a sale worth that much every year to break even....not a chance!!! Would be better off networking with prem clubs and utterlising their tallent imo

Suppose if you think about it 25k a month = £625 a week between 10 players. £600 a week for each youngster.

Not sure how true it is but remember doing a regular taxi job for a guy who used to play for Congleton Town reserves. He was saying at the time Congleton had just lost a player to Kidsgrove Athletic, because Kidsgrove could afford to pay him the same as what a normal average working man would earn. Like I say, don't know if true, but if so, considering that's non league footy, then £600 a week wouldn't surprise me, particularly as most of the development squad was signed when Wildes was agreeing contracts.

Don't forget there was an article in the Sentinel just after we got promotion, where Wildes was stating we were going to be Ambitious this Season and whilst not every player would be on £5-£6k a week, if we wanted success some would need to be, so who knows how much the likes of Robertson are on as regards the 1st Team.

96K to ticketmaster is a large chunk too.

Is that an annual fee? Do we really need it? We've maybe ran before we can walk in areas too fast. We need to evaluate what are excess waste in terms of does the business need it and can it survive without it whilst being successful. Luxuries like ticketmaster and the development squad should be shelved until we are (if) in the Championship and open to the revenue streams that make it doable and more necessary.

They won't be on that much but you have to factor in the cost of coaching and putting up these players.

You may be spot on there rayzer and not just a WILDE guess;)

Spot on. I understand there was a "hole" in the finances when the ownership changed. I don't think we have heard the last of this. Also the contracts agreed by Wildes were over the top and causing additional financial pressure. Contracts finish for some this year so hopefully we can rid of a few we carry.

The lack of commercial revenue is a big concern to me. The club the size of Vale needs to maximize all potential income streams.

I hope Norman gets the help and support to get us back on on track.

The key could be maximizing the income streams, we dont seem to be able to do it well or consistently.

Another cause of cash loss could be the terms of contracts already entered into, the only alternative maybe to buy a way out. If we cant sell sponsorship packages at the current price perhaps some deals could be worked for certain games to at least get something into the pot and perhaps create a habit with customers.
