Loft Out for 2-3 Weeks; No Loans In / One Out

Doug Loft will be out for 2-3 weeks with a calf strain.

 

Micky Adams has confirmed that no players will be coming in on loan before 5pm, but one will be going out.

Always surprised Joe Davis hasn't gone somewhere on loan before, having made a few appearances he has a good grounding. Surely a club top end of the Conference might give him a game?

Yet I thought Dodds was far more influential to our promotion season than Loft was. All about opinions I guess.

The joy of this board is that we all have opinions and don't all think the same otherwise it would be boring.

 

I can remember very clearly that a lot of folk on here thought that Loft was poor and were happy to see him go in the summer, before he signed a 12 month contract. I guess they are eating their words now as he is a good hard-working player at this level and an asset to us.

 

Dodds flits in and out of games but I feel a bit for him as he gets moved around and never has a long run in a settled position. You can argue that's because he isn't good enough but when you are in and out of the team and playing left wing, right wing, centre midfield, striker, it is very hard to get any momentum going and he often seems to be the odd one out. He's had some poor games like others but also scored some great goals and set up a few too. He isn't a bad player.

 

In terms of the thread it's disappointing no-one has come in as other teams have been very busy today but at least Jones is back.

 

I worry a bit at this time of the year when suspensions bite and injuries kick in that we don't have enough strength in the squad but I guess we've spent all we can and that's that.

Dodds isn't fit to lace Doug Loft' s boots - I don't care if Dodds ever plays for the Vale again, he could go to Luton with Davis for all I care, total waste of money
