Derek Tomkinson now lives in Spain I believe. Ray King is still alive but lives with his son in Thailand. Colin Askey is the only member of the semi-final team who is still locally based. I often see him shopping in Hanley with his missus!

 

PS There is a smashing pic of Ray King in Phil's book wearing the recent BGC keeper's jersey.

Thanks a lot, will look forward to seeing Ray in a Vale jersey at 89. Could do with some of his record 29 clean sheets in 53/54 this season.

For those who are interested I will be signing copies of the book in the club shop between 1pm and 2.30 before the Shrewsbury game on Saturday. Some of those on sale have been signed by Colin Askey, the only player from 1954 who is in this country, but who unfortunately can't be there in person. Thanks for all the positive comments about the book, especially from Jacko51, my publicity agent!
