They should make it compulsory like it is over here, if people don't vote they get fined.

It makes me really sad that my relatives and millions of others fought for such rights and giving up their lives to do so. Now we really would have had something to moan about had Hitler won his battle.

Wouldnt hitler have made it compulsory?.. if we fought for freedom where is the freedom if we have no choice?.. The fight was for freedom but the people fighting didnt have a choice.

I don't think for one second we would have had a choice under that type of regime.

The people who choose not to vote look a little daft when they start to complain.

Even placing a spoil mark or a none of the above mark on a polling card would surely be preferable.

I prefer to listen to what people say to how they say it. On one hand you've got dorky awkward EM trying to make life better for the poor and vulnerable, on the other you've got charismatic NF talking about bringing smoking back in pubs. ****s sake! A media that gave a balanced view and didn't pander to racist scaremongering would be a help.

He's not a clueless clown. He comes across very badly, mainly due to the way he looks and sounds but ideologically he's sound and far from the hapless idiot that he sometimes unfortunately appears to be.

I don't think he has an ideology..he's just an opportunist..showed this most recently in his reaction toe the budget in the Commons

I've always felt a bit awkward about feeling so apart from what is commonly known as 'the great british public'. However, after watching the results come through tonight, I wish I could live on a different planet to the thick bigoted ****witted *****.

Neg away.

Maybe you should be looking at yourself instead of 'them'?

What the British public have done in delivering a kick in the nut$ to the major parties is remarkable and in no way indicates that they are thick bigoted ****witted *****; anyione who thinks that just hasn't understood what has happened.

I do understand what has happened, thanks! The public (well, about 10% of them) has voted for a party that has policies that include paying to see a GP, getting rid of maternity leave and reintroducing smoking to pubs. Many seem to have done so because of bigotry and racism, and also because Nigel Farage smokes and drinks, as opposed to EM who has funny hair and a bunged up nose. Stupid clueless morons.

People have voted for a party that has Neil & Christine Hamilton in its ranks! How much of a moron would you have to be to do that?! It's the same idiots that voted for that great buffoon Boris Johnson because he's 'a legend' and makes a pr!ck of himself. As much as I despise Cameron, at least he's up front about his policies and wishes to be assessed on those rather than how 'funny' he is or how much of a **** he's willing to make of himself.
