  1. What about Garrity? Pretty sure I remember fans from his previous clubs saying he was poor.
  2. That’s the best thing you’ve ever posted. 👍🏻
  3. Why are you harping on about Sexman, who, for what it’s worth, didn’t actually manage us into administration, unlike his predecessors. For most clubs at our level the waters are usually choppy. Bratt and Co. steered us onto the rocks, jumped ship and left folk to sink. Pull your head out of the sand, we’ve got good owners who are fans themselves.
  4. A pitch is a pitch? I doubt you‘ve ever kicked a ball with that kind of statement. Even at local pub level some pitches are definitely far better than others. It’s much easier to play on a decent surface than it is a heavy pitch that’s cutting up or a rutted, bobbly surface in the drier months. Whenever I’ve been on league pitches the quality of the grass and the surface itself has been quite noticeably better than most non league grounds.
  5. You could easily argue that NS would’ve never taken ownership if the club was being properly run under Bratt and V2001.
  6. Have to agree, I thought the quality was dire. The difference in the overall standard between the league 2 and league 1 playoffs has been colossal. We’ve seen some really great football these last couple of years, admittedly most of it produced by our opponents, but sadly it’ll be time to dig the old neck brace out of the cupboard again come the new season.
  7. True, it would have to be managed but we’re not talking about allowing significant numbers through just more than currently, which seems to be 20 or so max. It’s almost certainly a non starter and not a priority but it’d be nice to see a few more bodies in there if there was a way to do it.
  8. I fully appreciate that you’re on a wind up but have to say if you’re saying Bratt ran the club well the facts don’t seem to back that up. One of the biggest problems facing our current owners was putting right decades of off the field neglect.
  9. Maybe some fans are struggling to afford season tickets because they lost their investment when the club went into admin under Bratt and v2001. Either way it’s certainly money they could’ve used to buy their season ticket.
  10. You’re assuming Chislett, Garrity and Dipepa are all going to be with us next season. I sincerely hope you’re right but I doubt it.
  11. On a tangent, a thought I had was could the club have some limited access from into the Lorne Street from the Hamil, just to get a few more fans in there and “join up” the 2 sections, existing Lorne Street and Hamil. You do see a few in there already who gain access into the “new” Lorne Street from the other side of Lorne Street so why not get a few more in if possible.
  12. So you don’t have a clue and you’re just being critical without offering any sort of alternative opinion bar the turnstiles? Nice one. 👍🏻 I’ll throw a couple of things out there. Folk on here were bashing on about the pitch and the club threw good money at the pitch, however we still suffered injuries and it didn’t help our home form. We’re now told that the training pitches have to match the main pitch and that’s a job earmarked for this summer, so that’s more money, plus the pitch itself was due further work. The end switch was a contentious issue but we swapped ends and we moved the scoreboard as part of that. The scoreboard was shot so needed replacing, but having had a season in the Hamil many fans are reassessing their seating position and more than a few are considering moving out. How this will affect the numbers in the Hamil and the fans spending in the fanzone only time will tell. The fact is that the atmosphere could end up being dire plus in league 2 we don’t have to worry about big away followings crossing over with home fans on Hamil Road so that reason for swapping is now invalid. The bogs are better though. I still feel the club need to do the same with the Hamil as they should’ve done with the Bycars, reduce prices and make the home end the cheapest place to watch football in the stadium.
  13. Agree with this, although I don’t ever see Uche banging in 20 goals. He probably needs someone alongside him, both to help close down defenders when we haven’t got the ball, and to run off him when he’s holding the ball. The main problem being he still looks raw despite his years in the game.
  14. Out of interest what would you have done in terms of ground improvements?
  15. That’s the managers job and he definitely has more options than those you suggest. Next season we need more goals so if we lose one or both players we’re already in deficit.
  16. I think you’re off on this one Joe, depending on how far into 6 figures you’re thinking. I’d never want to sell goalscorers by choice. Obviously if offers do come in then we’ll have to consider them. Anyway, both players have completely different attributes. Garrity, a hard working battler who can win you the ball and scores goals from midfield. Chizzy a tricky flair player who creates chances and scores a few himself. I’d try and keep both and maybe hope for a stupid offer in January if we’re not challenging. As ever money will dictate, be that a better wage offer for the player or a fee we can’t refuse.
  17. Nothing wrong with playing Newcastle, Kidsgrove and other local teams as it gives us a good base to work from as pre-season progresses and the quality of opposition hopefully improves, plus fans generally enjoy these games, especially if the weather’s good. Moore seemed to indicate we’d be playing a few more friendlies against teams from higher leagues this season so we’ll have to wait and see.
  18. It’s not Bill. It’s some troll……potentially with a dust problem judging from some of the 💩 they’re posting. 👍🏻
  19. Definitely special, not necessarily for the right reasons sadly.
  20. We had the V design maybe 8 or 9 years ago, on the GMB kit. A smallish V on one of the home kits around then, which I wasn’t a fan of, and that claret shirt which had a large V, which I thought was a nice top at the time. To be fair we’ve had some great kits over the years and many of the recent ones are right up there.
  21. Folk are bashing on about being strong willed but it’s not that simple, confidence plays a big part. Also, when the chips are down if you know you’re in a struggling team that can’t score goals and leaks them like a colander it’s a lot harder than when things are going well. That said there’s no doubt we could’ve fine with, and need to recruit, a couple of players who were/are tougher, DM alluded to that the other night, kind of suggesting the players are good guys but you need a bit of nastiness in the dressing room, as long as it’s managed properly.
  22. Exactly. These people, CoE’s, CEO’s etc, are appointed to primarily take pressure off the owners so let them get on with it. Things clearly became very toxic between the club and fans over the course of the season and the pressure on the Shanahans must’ve been intense. It’s pressure we don’t have as fans on the terraces. We have the emotional attachment but can walk home after the game and don’t have to worry about running the business, being castigated on social media and all the rest of it. Anyway, we all need a reset and Carol stepping out of the limelight just now is a natural part of that, there’s nothing stopping her from becoming more visible again once the dust has settled and I for one really hope to see her at our open day, kit launch or whatever, for my annual selfie.
  23. We could choose any colour under the sun but quite obviously the real reason is historic, we’ve played in black and amber, or yellow, many times over the years.
