  1. If he's going to win September, he might as well win October too. A great run of results after a predicted slow start and even though I'm not one to say I told you so, it's becoming harder and harder to quieten that voice in my head. It's going to be a bumpy ride this season but what the fans need to do is resist that temptation to be overly critical and press that big panic button when we drop points. If you can't get behind this team (manager included) after the last 4 league results and that feeling after the Orient game then I don't think Port Vale is for you. 10 games in and Clarke is fully justified in releasing the players during the summer.

  2. Really looking forward this as it will be my 100th away ground I have seen the Vale play at.

  3. Our charity website has a preview of your match v Sutton United tomorrow. It is unusual as you have not played each other before. Anyway, am sure you will enjoy the content which can be found at (mods approval) www.footballcities.co.uk and click on the News and Views page. The website has been re modelled over Covid lockdown and getting good feedback. You can check out the new Stoke page and also Sutton's page under London South where you will find some useful travel information etc. Enjoy the match and safe journey, if attending.

  4. Thoroughly deserved for eliciting some fine performances, excellent substitutions and the greatest managerial goal celebration I have ever seen... good on you DC.

  5. No but we’ve got the most ethical owners, and that’s priceless.

  8. That's a defeat for us tomorrow then I’m hoping that our recent run of hoodoo breaking can continue! Swindon away - no problem Scunthorpe away - no problem MoM wins next game - 🤞🤞🤞

  9. I agree. It is very rare any lower league 4th Div guy these days goes for a big fee unless an absolute prodigy. The best Rudge sales were in our Champ/league 1 level era.

  10. I really like Rodney, but I just don't see him being a big sale personally. I think we'd be lucky to get £100,000 for him. And I don't mean this to be a diss but I think there is a lot that needs working on for him to reach that level! The raw attributes are there so I'd hope we can coach the rest out of him.

  11. The kitman will be hired for £40m. £100m for a rotation player.

  12. I think I’d be tempted to sell Devante in January if any club comes in for him. He’s reported as being a saleable asset and with Wilson/Proctor being first choice, I’d put Amoo above Devante. I know this will leave us with only three forwards but I think Taylor or Politic could fill the fourth striker role, until the end of the season. Hopefully by then we’d be promoted. This is not an anti Devante post because I have only positive things to say about him for what he did for us last season and I will not forget those dark times, which he pulled us through. My thoughts may be a bit radical for some, but any alternative opinions would be great to hear.

  14. I'd hope Cass has the brains to join us and not do something daft like Mitch Clarke did. Surely the chance of him breaking through at Newcastle are non-existent now - ie why play an unknown youngster when you can go and buy an international for £40m? C'mon Cassy, do the sensible thing!

  15. Patel and Johnson seemed unimpressed with them the other day. Just drive over their toes , ouch.

  16. Money can't buy C(l)ass. Send Kev Shanahan over to have a word with MBS. "We'll be keeping Lewis, cheers son".

  17. Add up the wealth of the owners of the ten next richest clubs and it still doesn’t get anywhere near to the same level as Newcastle.

  19. How on earth can you leave Bacon out? He's been on sizzling form, crisp finishes despite being sandwiched by central defenders......

  20. Someone i know watched a few of their games last season and said they have a couple of tricky players in Ajiboye and Olaofe(not sure if he has returned on loan to them or not) and our ex loan player Wilson but i pointed out that we have some decent players ourselves...for some reason though this game worries me more than the last couple, maybe because they are lower down, not sure They have lost 1 at home and we have lost 1 away so a boring 0-0 it is then

  21. Looking forward to this one, Sutton is about 10 miles away from where I live. I called on Monday, finally got through to the office and ordered a couple, only the lady on the phone told me they'd just sent the post out for that day and couldn't guarantee that they'd arrive in time. I ordered them anyway. They turned up yesterday having been sent by express delivery, which they hadn't charged me for. It's probably cost The Vale money to get my tickets to me. I've just sent them a box of chocolates.

  23. Jake and Tom have been excellent so far and our midfield is far better than it’s been for sometime and there’s strength on the bench as well. If my memory serves me correct we’re we not trying to sign the Orient keeper in the summer or was that just what ppl wanted on OVF. I’d imagine after the abuse he received yesterday then he’s glad he never came to us. I know others have already stated this on OVF, I can only apologise for the idiots who have done what they’ve done and say that these are a minority and don’t represent the majority of PVFC fans our club or our City.

  24. I thought Taylor looked very good yesterday. Some lovely touches, good running, kept possession under pressure, good passing.

  25. I think that's a pretty decent response and at least you have backed it up with some decent research, unlike others. I obviously disagree with some points (which I may revisit later ) but I can also see things might look different depending on your personal experience. Clearly if someone you know or a family member has been affected then you are likely to see this as more real. Because I've never seen it as the threat that a lot of people have, I've never worried about me, my family or my friends. Would I feel different if someone close to me had been affected? Maybe. You see, when you debate like adults it creates some interesting talking points and I can actually see some things from your point of view. All this argument based on emotion just never really gets anywhere because it brings the personal aspect in rather than looking at the data coldly, which is unfortunately what needs to happen to make impartial judgments. I don't want to upset anyone. Ask anyone who knows me, I'm a laid back guy. I just happen to feel quite strongly about this. We're all vale aren't we?
