  1. After many years away from OVF, the podcast has inspired me to get back on the forum. When I first heard about it (from Bezza in a messenger group i’m A member of, I wasn’t enthusiastic. I have to admit I was expecting it to be a bit cringy and amateurish. How wrong I was. I listened to the Carol episode first, and am currently binge listening to the other episodes. The three of you bounce off each other really well, and it’s great to have in-depth discussion in minute detail about my club, which even in the local press doesn’t get in depth coverage. The guests have all been great and i

  2. I have no problem with women’s sport of any description. Let me make that quite clear. However, the standard of women’s football is not of the quality to justify all the media attention and especially TV coverage that it is afforded. In reality the BBC only started covering it because they had so little sport to show with all the sporting rights being lost to satellite companies such as Sky and BT. So of course I wholly endorse female sporting participation, but certainly in football terms the quality on show does not justify the media hype which surrounds it.

  3. Call me biased if you wish but give me the gruff voice of a male commentator any day........over the gruff voice of a woman.

  4. I have not seen the full set of tweets. But saying something about the Rothschild family and their success is not inherently racist. Same as saying something about Warren Buffet isn't racist. What is racist is starting a movement which has not moved on from its title Black Lives Matter to All Lives Matter. Then filling Sky programming with pundits who are from black backgrounds since restart such that it is obvious positive discrimination is taking place. I have had enough of this black people are discriminated thing really. It is difficult to see how the Equality Act 2010 doesn't do exactly w

  5. England v Italy game at Port Vale. Been to busy the last few weeks to get back and post something properly about this. So, the highlights did look slightly better than I remember. Nonetheless pathetic goalkeeping and hopeless misses are the main highlights. That is not to say some men's games don't have the same. But the full game was drone like. Ball stayed in play a lot because the women are not strong enough to find touch with clearances consistently. And yes shooting from outside the box is an issue and there was a clear preference to try to get closer to shoot. I am entitled to my op

  7. In our latest “five of the best” features we look at failures which became successes when they switched to Port Vale. As the history of the club stretches back well over 130 years, this article features players signed in the last thirty years only. However, it’s only personal preference and is subjective. If there’s an […] The post Five of the best: other club’s cast-offs who were a success at Port Vale appeared first on onevalefan.co.uk.

  10. If we are going to wet our knickers over every slight increase then why have we stopped lockdown and quarantine at all. Of course there are going to be increases due to more travel, mixing, activity etc... surely they have modelled for that? To do this as suddenly as they have stinks.. wonder if its anything to do with the last round of EU talks?

  11. I was very sceptical when Askey took over. Thought he was completely the wrong manager for the job. Well now I have total confidence in whoever he signs no matter what there previous stats were.
