  1. We aren’t serious play off contenders? Have you not seen the table. The mind genuinely boggles. And also have you seen where Cheltenham are? They created even less than us so what does that make them? Very stupid criticism by you in my opinion.

  2. Mitch Clark has only played a few games for Vale this season but it's already very apparent that he is one hell of a player at this level, possibly even better than last season. He gets about the pitch, his positional sense is good, he reads the game well and tidies up behind the center backs, is versatile, excellent going forward and is tenacious perhaps a bit too much at times. He would be a tremendous permanent signing if it could be made to happen.

  4. Conlon's been excellent in every game he's played in since his return to the side. Proper all-rounder.

  5. Conlon is a good player at this level. No question about that. He’s skilful, can pass a ball and has good energy, so fits perfectly with the style of play John has implemented. Yesterday must be one of his best games in a Vale shirt so far. He did everything well, bar score.

  6. They have the best defensive record in the division by a long way. They've conceded 27; the next lowest is 37. They've conceded 10 less than the next lowest in the entire league. That's outstanding. We hit the bar, Cullen probably should have scored his header, watching it back Pope's diving header miss is a sitter, and Burgess should have hit the target in the last minute. This is away, at the best defensive side in the league by a long way, who were on a 5 game winning streak, and we had 3, possibly 4, good chances. Yesterday was the first time we failed to score in 8 (last ti

  7. I'll be giving this a push on the OVF front page and on the OVF social media accounts closer to the game. I'm sure the SC will do the same but I guess the more people who push the more the message gets across to the fans.

  8. We were the better team yesterday, Brown didn’t make a save and bar some atrocious officiating we would have beaten a team who had just won 4 on the bounce pushing for automatic promotion. I would say we are very serious play off contenders.

  12. This season has shown it isn't who we play but which Vale team turns up. We're playing well and have a great chance of making the play-offs, 75pts will do it me thinks. Interesting to consider Vale stated and finished the game yesterday with just two players and one player different respectively from the team that really struggled last season and we should have beaten a promotion chasing team.. Just a testimony to how well JA and DK have got this team set up, organized and motivated.

  13. I back us at home against anyone, but these have shown a significant improvement since Yems replaced Cioffi. They've only lost 1 in 9, and that was at Crewe. Nadesan, Palmer, Lubala, and Greco-Cox are a very decent attacking quartet for League 2. They also have ex-Vale Nathan Ferguson in the middle, who rebuilt his career at Dulwich Hamlet after we released him.

  14. First game this year for me due to an op! So heres hoping we can get stuck in and get the three points. Make no mistake this is no easy match we need all eleven to be at 100% to get the three points. This is a very tight league everybody seems to be able beat anybody, I think if we play at our best then we can do it.

  15. No doubt we are solid and would be 2nd in the form league for the last 10 games and 5th for the last 6. Couldn't go yesterday just seen the highlights. Shocking pen decision and tbh I'm sure Pope would have scored Cullen's chances and should perhaps have scored his diving header? 2 pts gone, 2 last week - too many examples of this, however, we are still in there. We are a unit and if Cullen and Pope start firing I think we may just squeeze in the play offs. If not that is where we will fall down this term. Must wins v Crawley and Bradford but how many times have we been here and shot ourselves

  16. I would have happily taken a point before the game yesterday, the fact that we didn’t win was nothing of our doing, but 2 shocking decisions from the match officials.

  22. I keep hearing that 'League 2 is poor this year', but I simply don't see it. Crewe have 5/6 lads who will play a lot higher. Swindon have the leading scorer in the country and players such as Grant and Doughty who have no business being in League 2. Plymouth have a massive budget and have last season's POTY and promotion-winning manager. FGR and Bradford have spent shedloads and are crumbling. Scunthorpe and Mansfield have spent loads and are floundering. Salford have spent the GDP of a developing nation and are m-dtable Northampton have spent loads. Col
