I for one am over the moon with all the signings that we have made, Hughes will score goals, Birchall is just too classy for this level, and Purse brings vast experience and influence. However I think the most exciting thing about being a Vale fan at the moment is that for the first time in years, we have a range of young players that have bags of potential who are already good enough for this league! The likes of Morsy, Davis, Lloyd, Burge, James, Johnson all have the potential I think to be top L1 or championship players. When was the last time we had this expanse of potential? I can't remember. I really do believe the future is bright. Experience will help get us out of this league. Our young players will keep us out of it!

You always need a 2nd keeper who could be good enough if first choice CN has a long term lay off. As a young Sam must appreciate that he must wait for his chance.

With all this money we're spending, I can't see Adams risking an unproven keeper if Neal were to get injured.

I don't understand why you wouldn't have a keeper on the bench when you can have 7? Keeper may get injured or sent off once, but it could cost 3 points which may be the difference between going up and not.
