The only down side to us being so good (particularly at home) will be that teams will just "park the bus". However because we do now use the full width of Vale Park, at the moment we do have enough in the armoury to take care of this. The worry will be as others have said if we have injuries. Neal, Loft & Pope particularly as there are no natural replacements for these 3

Exactly my thoughts, that's what happened to us a few seasons ago when we were top (and ignoring the other factors) was one of the major reasons we dropped points, we just couldn't break teams down.

 

On an aside who would've thought that losing the mighty Marc Richards would turn out to be the best thing that happened to side since the day Tony Naylor first graced VP (maybe a slight exaggeration :P )?

Don't think you can alter the pitch dimensions once the season has started.

I do believe now though that we have the beating of teams that will 'park the bus'. Big pitch, decent wingers, who can not only create but score themselves. Creativity and running from midfield and full backs and we can even lump it to Popey, to even score himself or, to knock on to the runners, Doddsy in particular who's difficult to pick up in the roll he's playing. A few more goals from set piece corners (from the amount that we've had so far this season) and McDonald in particular then it'd be perfect!

7 games in, im entertained with some great football, its a very long season, however if we can stay fairly injury free it could be very interesting

Promotion is on the cards if the team continues in the way that it has started.

If the right purchaser of the club comes in and allows Mickey to get a left back and a proven goal scorer League two champions is highly possible.
