Exactly, Loft is not a better midfield player than Shuker who goes around connecting play in midfield in a way that is from a higher level and which Torquay did not have yesterday. Morsey is now much more effective than in the past, and he has picked up quite a few midfield tricks to find space and avoid being tackled when on the ball. Loft is good on the left down the flank and he is finding space playing at fullback to attack the other fullback and cross.

 

I have watched Shuker for quite a few years because I live on the Wirral and sometimes also follow Tranmere as my second team. I remember one particular Port Vale v Tranmere Rovers, 17 March 2007 when we lost 3-2 and it was Shuker who ran that game down the flank with Greenacre providing the goals. He has a whole career of playing more successfully than Loft.

 

Problem is Shuker is not the player he was a few years ago and as you say yourself though he was always a good winger, now he's lost his pace he certainly isn't a central midfielder either. I thought the last few games Shuker's passing has been off, his tackling is almost non-existent and because of his size he lacks any kind of presence in the centre of the park.
