National League transfers and loan can still be made as they don't have a transfer deadline day unlike the PL/EFL.

Does that mean they can sign a player for cash from an efl club or is it just free's or loans they can have from league clubs

Morning ValeHeads - anyone heard anything more about Paton...??  I do hope what I was told was incorrect.

Off on a big car journey today - will keep checking in from time to time.

I would think the best clue on Ruari will be if he is in the matchday squad tonight for or not. If he’s still here you’d think he has to play. Guess if he were to leave if it was to the NL then there’s no real rush for anything to get done. If it was a mutual termination to another EFL club then would have thought something would have been announced by now.

This might just be some strange coincidence but some on here thought the poster Robert18847575 was Paton himself/a relative or friend of his and he used to always put a laughing or confused emoji when anyone dared to say anything negative about Paton BUT he has responded to anyone at all yesterday or today

🤔

Thought that myself yesterday me old fruit

I don't know if this is true about Carol turning down £1M for a Vale player but if it was I imagine the bid was for Walters.

I read that it was QPR who bid for Walters - they backed off when we said we wanted £2.5 million. No idea if that’s right, but saw it on a QPR Twitter/X fan account.

That's a fair point and one I've not thought of before. I think certainly with wingbacks, we tend to have two on the bench and swop at 60 minutes when they are exhausted so that makes a case for having so many wingback options. I can't fathom the three senior keepers thing though - unless Amos is out for several more months?

Amos was in the club shop b4 the Doncaster game, he said he expected to be back in training the next week..

40  to 50 max

Gooarrrnnnn R Paton shut the doubters up

Im quite sick of seeing get rid of him give him a go with a seasoned pro like D Cole (A Coles son what a finisher his dad was )then judge he aint going fo abything with a big punt forwardsfrom last years defence is he..

Waine aswell i really enjoyed his all out committment first half v Doncaster

I take it he missed a header at Reading .

Lets get behind them all 40 or 50 folk dont run the club CS does

Theres room at the club for R Paton play it too his feet and watch him thrive ,play it in the air then he will be criticised that surely cannot be his strength .

Id like see some faith in him, a few goals and he could be flying and lets face it he only seemed to play when the team were doing badly ,v Grimsby we couldnt have played any worse ,yet at Harrogate away i saw running in behind a magnificent free kick and a lot of linking the play which shouldnt be underestimated.

He played what 8 full games at a new club and he is a write off not for me he isnt needs more time than that .

I noticed that too quite concerning

How about you lift someone up and give the lad the confidence do it .

You dont give up on your outlay .

You work like crazy too get a person better ,you believe in your signings .

I know i listen too to much S.O.T, (state of trance brilliant watch it on you tube quite brilliant music )..gym swim ,walks ,trance .

If its true ill feel for the lad ,after all did he get chance play in a two or was he stuck out on the wing i think you will find he was.

Give all 3 a chance we need them to deliver match winning displays as season goes on.

If that is true, what pleases me most is that any release clause must be 2.5 million or more

I often wonder what the point of QPR is. They’ve done nothing for donkeys’ years and just been sat in the championship (somehow), although having said that I’d forgotten about the Tony Fernandes/Harry Redknapp era there

Either way 2.5 million is cheap as chips nowadays for a player of Walters class & quality # Hope he's at The Vale plying his trade for a few years yet.

Good news, when word gets around could start a bidding war.

Blimey bit harsh on the great Stan Bowles Clive Allen etc.. I m sure the question is more justifiable if aimed at us unfortunately….. apart from us Vale fans we re hardly in anyone’s radar.

I was talking about the more modern era really I suppose. They just strike me as a bit “meh”, never seemingly being promoted or relegated but as I say, I’d forgotten that fairly recent stint in the PL and the days of Trevor Sinclair etc previously
