Alan Vit who joined OVF on March 25th.

Not sure who you are but comedy is all about timing and to post this today stinks. !!

Does it matter when he joined? When you posted your 1st ever post was it valid because you hadn't posted before? He has the right to his opinion as you have. Very strange post for a moderator!

It's not an either / or choice.

It's possible for us to be a good citizen for the local community AND to achieve success on the field - as Vale demonstrated in the promotion season.

The fact that the football has gone badly this season doesn't take away from the worth of this community achievement.

Port Vale is a lot more than just a football club.

We are primarily a football club though

The higher up the league pyramid we are, the better it will be for the Burslem “community”. Bigger teams need more employees - match day and full time.

Higher attendances means more customers for pubs/takeways/corner shops on a match day. I remember reading an article on the negative effect West Ham leaving Upton Park had on those sorts of businesses in the area.

Think of it that way Carol.

Indeed.  Bob in the Bull's Head had a right cob on with me when we were boycotting Vale during the V2001 era.  Burslem was dead.
