An abomination of a second half.

What makes it sting even more is that nobody could confidently say that the first half was plain-sailing. Fleetwood had some decent chances and were frequently loading balls into it our box. The penalty gave some daylight to the scoreline but Charlie Adam rightly believed his team were creating problems, hence he adapted at the break.

Even if we acknowledge Flitcroft’s abysmal recruitment and the squad Moore has inherited, the latter’s second-half tactics and substitutions were head-scratching and alarming; as was his assessment that we were “comfortable”. Why remove Ojo for Lowe? (Why did we ditch Tom Pett, by the way?) What positive outcome was genuinely expected by isolating Loft and Mighten in no-man’s land? Was Ripley instructed to repeatedly belt the ball out of play on the left flank, but not before Dan Jones had attempted to scramble his way towards keeping it in with his head? 

It was dire and embarrassing. God forbid the quality of football on show if we didn’t have two changing rooms and ice baths.

One last thing. Vale fans are frequently being asked to “stick together” with the team, “as one”. To this fan, it’s felt restlessly patronising. For the majority of last night - even during that horrific second-half display - the fans backed the players and the manager. They did so - despite this team’s nosedive in form  - to boost and support the players on the pitch. If the individual(s) pulling the levers at this club could put ego aside for one moment, step back, and genuinely look at their contribution to what has happened on the pitch since May 2022, they would not only witness successive blunders, but they’d have the decency to admit it.

Clueless, Ryder wouldn’t of done any work with the senior players before he got the interim job it’s excuses again & again I’m sick of it. The crap the gaffer is coming out with is ridiculous 

Isn't Ryder supposed to ensure that the youngsters integrate with the first team? Surely, he would have watched the first team and analysed their play as a coach.

Not sure why fans are calling it all DM's fault.  He has been dealt a crap thread bare squad of players, some of which are not fit for lads and dads sunday team. 

First half Vale looked comfortable and able to battle - then in the 2nd half they brought on experience and better players.  What had we got - thanks fraudcroft nothing really and Fleetwood just over ran us.  2 mistakes and 2 goals.  Thank god the ref blew when he did or else they would have won the game.

I’d of thought he’d have been working on the youngsters as his priority & communicating with the first team management. Yes he would have more insight but it’s excuses mate. I’ll be shocked if Darren Moore wins a game of football this season. No better chance than 2-0 up at half time last night. Flitcroft out 🤡

I'm still really pissed off about last night. 

No way we should have lost that after half time, but it sure felt like we did at the end there. 

We sorely miss Gibbo and Mal Benning, Conlon, Pett, even Antony Griffiths would be an upgrade on Jason Lowe. That's on Fuckers, sorry, Flickers. 

Still enough games to save the season mathematically, but after dropping our best chances to get valuable points, it requires a miracle now. 

I'd rather Doug Loft up front at the age he's at than Ryan Loft.

I'm not one to turn on Moore or even judge the manager based on press comments, I'll give him until end of the season, see what his man management skills can get out of this lot. 

As for the future of Vale recruitment, get Fuckers out, and bring in someone Moore can work with and let Moore dictate the direction of our recruitment strategy, since he is here for 5 years. 

Send Dave back to being the unwanted Flitcroft child in the family.

His 3 games teething session ended before last night. I’m so baffled by his management & speeches so far, I understand it’s not going happen overnight but that second half last night was awful & he couldn’t see it we were comfortable & their first come as a shock!

I guess will start with the positive which was well done to young Baylee. Thought he did a very nice job while he was on and frankly put some of our other so called forwards to shame. Weir as well good job.

Forget talent the biggest issue with this team is they are so soft. Was there anyone who didn’t think when they got one back that equaliser wasn’t inevitable? Every time the going gets tough with this bunch they go hiding. But hey they’re ‘phenomenal’ and that’s definitely not us apparently. On Lowe as well I’d prefer us to have Conor Grant in that role, probably suit him better than on the left. And surely Mitch must be good to play by now?
